Your semester in Vietnam, step by step.

We have been doing this since 2011. The process is straightforward, the support is real, and every year new teachers arrive not quite knowing what to expect, and leave knowing it was the best thing they ever did.

Here is exactly how it works.

Have fun, earn money, make freidns teaching English in Vietnam

Fill out our short application form. Tell us about yourself, upload a photo, and record a 60-second intro video for your prospective school. The whole thing takes around 20 minutes.

You will need a minimum 120-hour TEFL certificate. Do not have one yet? Complete the TEFL course first, then apply.

Full training through our induction program

Get accepted and matched

We review your application and present it to our partner schools. Within two weeks, we will send you an acceptance letter confirming your placement.

Once that is in your hands, you can book your flights and start getting ready for Vietnam.

We guide you through everything: visa applications, document legalisation, vaccinations, insurance and pre-departure tips.

We have helped over 1,200 teachers through this process, so there is very little we have not seen before. You will also join our private teacher group to connect with others on the same intake.

Orientation week in Hanoi

Earn money whil travelling and teaching English

Every teacher arrives in Hanoi for a five-day orientation before heading to their chosen school.

Airport pickup, hotel, teaching skills, work permit paperwork and a city tour are all included. By the end of the week, you will feel much more settled and ready to begin.

Teach your semester

You meet your students, sign your employment contract, and start teaching up to 20 hours per week.

You will earn USD $1,000 per month plus a USD $500 completion bonus. Our local team stays in touch throughout, so you are never on your own.

One semester. Not a year.

Most teaching abroad programs ask for a 12-month commitment and charge you up to US$2,000 / £1,500 / €1,700 in placement fees. Fluent Education is different. We place you for one semester, five months. If you love it, you can always stay on. But you only have to commit to five months.

If you decide to stay on in Vietnam, like so many teachers before you have, there is no extra fee. The Fluent Education team will provide advice and assistance with the process.
